The Embedded Sensing and Computing (ESC) Group at the University at Buffalo leads research at the intersection of hardware and architecture, operating systems, algorithms, and human-centered design. Our group comprises some of the brightest students from around the world to tackle challenging and complex tasks. We aim to create innovative technologies that can be applied in healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and cybersecurity.
Our mission is to push the boundaries of embedding sensing and computing by developing innovative AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) systems that bring together smart sensing, mobile computing, and real-time connectivity. We work across the entire technology stack, from hardware and embedded platforms to software, algorithms, and user-facing applications, to design efficient and adaptive systems that address real-world challenges. Our main research areas include AIoT and wireless sensing, digital health, and biometric security. By combining intelligent s
