BRINC
At BRINC, we are building the technology that will define the future of emergency response. As a vertically integrated U.S. drone technology company, BRINC designs and manufactures unmanned aircraft systems, autonomous drone stations, command-and-control software, and advanced autonomy for public safety. Today, BRINC deploys Drone as First Responder (DFR) networks that dispatch drones directly to 911 calls, providing real-time aerial intelligence before ground units arrive and helping first responders make faster, safer decisions. BRINC serves more than 1,000 public safety customers across all 50 states, is the sole drone supplier to Motorola Solutions, and has raised more than $280 million from leading strategic and technology investors, including Motorola Solutions, Index Ventures, Sam Altman, Dylan Field, and others. BRINC is recruiting exceptional engineers to build the next generation of autonomous emergency-response technology, including flight-critical firmware and advanced pilot-assistance capabilities.
As a Backend Engineer working on LiveOps at BRINC, you will build and manage the real-time backend infrastructure that keeps our public safety drones connected, streaming, and fully operational in high-stakes environments. You will own the live operational stack, focusing on low-latency telemetry, video distribution, remote control links, and system uptime when seconds matter most.
You’ll work at the intersection of backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and hardware-in-the-loop systems to ensure that when a drone deploys on a mission, the live operations platform is solid, secure, and performant. This is an exciting opportunity to make major impacts in a fast-paced startup environment.

Degree in computer science or a related field and 5+ years of experience shipping high-quality code and building robust infrastructure
Experience building backend platforms, from the infrastructure up to the API layer (bonus if you’ve built real-time data platforms, scalable microservice architectures, and are experienced in dealing with security and encryption requirements)
Experience with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc) and are comfortable switching between software engineering and Cloud DevOps
Familiarity with serverless architecture, and understand the tradeoffs between performance and cost when running servers at scale
Demonstrated experience with cloud architectures focused on scale, performance and security
Experience with real-time systems or embedded software development
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practice
