Engineering

At Didero, we’re building the autonomous supply chain, starting with agentic supplier management.

Global trade has never been more complex or more critical. Teams are underwater, reacting to a flood of challenges — from geopolitical risk to tariffs. Didero helps by automating time-intensive workflows with AI agents, deploying cutting-edge technology into one of the world’s most vital domains.

We’re backed by some of the world’s best venture funds and leading figures across AI, supply chain, and enterprise software.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a technically strong, customer-facing engineer who can understand complex customer operations, question requirements, design scalable solutions, and build the systems needed to deploy Didero successfully.

You will work directly with our enterprise and strategic customers to understand their end-to-end procurement and operations workflows including ERP integrations, data pipelines, workflow automation, supplier communication flows, reporting, and custom deployment needs. You will translate messy real-world processes into reliable, maintainable technical systems.

This is a hands-on engineering role. You will build backend systems, integrations, APIs, data pipelines, and workflow automations using the best technical approach for the problem. While our core platform is built with Django, we care more about solving customer problems than using any single technology. You'll use the right tools and technologies for each integration or deployment.

You will work with systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Business Central, Zip, and other procurement, ERP, finance, and operational platforms. You will also partner closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Forward Deployed teams to ensure customer deployments are scalable and aligned with our product direction.

We are looking for someone who is not just an implementer. The right person is a systems thinker who asks why, challenges assumptions, pushes back on unclear requirements, and helps customers arrive at better solutions.

Please Note: This is a hybrid role based in NYC and may involve occasional on-site work with customers, approximately 1-2 per month, to support discovery sessions, technical workshops, and deployment phases.

What You’ll Do

Work directly with customers to understand their procurement, finance, ERP, and operational workflows.
Question and clarify customer requirements, identifying the underlying business need rather than blindly implementing requests.
Design and build integrations with ERP, procurement, finance, and operational systems.
Build backend services, APIs, data pipelines, workflow automations, and customer-specific technical solutions.
Translate ambiguous customer processes into structured, scalable system designs.
Partner with Product and Engineering to identify repeatable patterns that should become part of the core platform.
Debug complex integration issues across customer systems, third-party APIs, data models, and internal services.
Support customer discovery, deployment planning, and technical implementation.
Help define best practices for forward-deployed engineering, customer pipelines, and integration architecture.

You’ll be successful in this role if you…

Thrive in ambiguity and make steady progress without perfectly defined requirements.
Think in systems, connecting customer workflows, data, and software into scalable solutions.
Partner directly with customers to uncover root problems rather than simply implementing requests.
Challenge assumptions and refine requirements before writing code.
Exercise strong engineering judgment, knowing when to build custom solutions, create reusable abstractions, or push back.
Balance customer-specific needs with long-term product thinking by identifying repeatable patterns.
Debug complex integration and distributed systems problems methodically.
Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

Qualifications

6+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend expertise.
Strong experience building backend services using Python and/or Django (or comparable backend technologies).
Experience designing and building integrations with external systems, APIs, enterprise software, or data pipelines.
Experience working directly with customers or cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, API design, debugging, and systems architecture.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Points For:

Experience working in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Implementation Engineering.
Prior experience integrating multiple ERP systems.
Familiarity with SAP OData services, NetSuite SuiteTalk/SuiteScript, Microsoft Business Central APIs.
Experience with async processing (Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ) for large data sync jobs.
Familiarity with Docker, cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Knowledge of financial/accounting workflows and supply chain processes.

Tech Stack

Django · Python · React · TypeScript

What we value at Didero

We go beyond OTIF. We’re obsessed with our customers and go above and beyond to ensure we’re their top supplier. We work hard to earn and maintain their trust.
Own it. We own what we do. We stand behind the quality of our work and do the right thing, especially when it costs us.
Move fast. Learn faster. We have a strong bias to action and shorten the cycle by following our curiosity to improve as we go.
Be relentless. When one route closes, we find another.
Disagree, then commit. This is an open contest of ideas. We’re direct, but with respect. We’re decisive, and everyone commits because we win together.
