Gate Attendant

As a Gate Attendant, you’ll help keep people and property safe by managing entry to a secured site. You’ll verify access, monitor surveillance systems, and respond calmly to concerns or emergencies. Your impact: Careful access control helps protect site occupants and gives authorized visitors a clear, welcoming entry experience.
Duties
- Verify visitor and worker authorization, perform background checks when required, and operate access control systems.
- Monitor CCTV (closed-circuit television) and other surveillance tools; patrol assigned areas and report security concerns.
- Provide customer service, de-escalate conflicts, and follow emergency response procedures.
- Write clear incident reports and maintain accurate access and activity records.
- Support physical security, including manual handling or heavy lifting when needed, while following security regulations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated security awareness; experience in military or law enforcement settings is relevant but not required.
- Knowledge of conflict management, conflict de-escalation, and compliance with security regulations.
- First aid and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) skills; ability to operate an AED (automated external defibrillator) is preferred.
- Taser or firearm handling experience may be relevant where permitted and required for the role; follow all applicable laws and site policies.
- Ability to remain alert, communicate professionally, perform assigned patrols, and safely handle physical tasks.
Pay: $22.69 - $27.32 per hour
