Role description
Thyme CareOUR MISSION
We exist to create a more connected, compassionate, and confident experience for people with cancer and those who care for them. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond.
Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person's cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers.
We believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help care teams focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer.
Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you're inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what's possible, we'd love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
We're hiring a Strategic Initiatives Lead to own and drive high-stakes, ambiguous programs at the intersection of AI and new business development. To start, we're focused on creating a new front door to cancer care to help people navigate cancer from the moment they're diagnosed, often before they've chosen where to get treated. You'll own developing the strategy from the ground up and be responsible for all cross-functional execution to bring it to life. As we learn, you will follow new threads and prioritize new exploration.
This role sits adjacent to AI Platform and will lead new, AI-heavy builds from early hypothesis through execution and scale. You'll work directly with our Head of AI and partner across Marketing, Product, Engineering, Clinical, Ops, Legal, and Security.
Additionally, you will:
Own strategic programs end-to-end: from hypothesis refinement through execution and scaling
Translate ambiguous business problems into structured hypotheses, experiments and workplans with clear artifacts that result in investment behind the highest-leverage opportunities
Turn user intent into product direction: instrument and understand user needs, and prioritize the cohorts we should serve first
Interface with members, partners, vendors, and other stakeholders to share our vision, gather feedback, and establish and maintain strategic relationships
Develop external-facing pitch decks, positioning and go to market assets
Drive cross-functional alignment across Clinical, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Ops
Represent Thyme credibly to senior external stakeholders (members, payers, providers, partners)
Build durable playbooks to scale and harden programs
Use artificial intelligence to shape the future of cancer care
WHAT YOU'VE DONE
8+ years of experience in operations, growth, or business building roles
Strong track record of building from scratch in highly cross-functional environments; owning large-scale initiatives from early concept through launch, iteration, and scale
Experience building, launching, or growing a consumer-facing product
Experience owning acquisition, including designing and iterating paid campaigns, optimizing spend, and building feedback loops from conversion data into product decisions
Experience operating in tech-forward or AI-enabled environments, with demonstrated ability to engage deeply with technical teams and understand system capabilities, trade-offs, and constraints
Experience evaluating, partnering with, or operationalizing emerging technologies (e.g., AI vendors, platform tooling, data infrastructure)
Structured problem solving in complex, high-stakes environments
Experience operating effectively in ambiguous, fast-evolving contexts where direction and constraints are not fully defined
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor narratives for executive, clinical, and external audiences
Nice to haves:
Healthcare experience (payer, provider, or value-based care)
Early-stage consumer health, DTC health tech, or telehealth growth experience
Data-oriented mindset; ability to understand and work with healthcare data
Experience in consulting, investing, founding, or corporate strategy setting
