Legal Operations Manager

About Norm
Norm builds AI-native professional services firms and the technology that powers them. Our mission is to help expert professionals deliver better work at greater scale.

Developing the technology and the firms together lets us rethink how work gets done, how teams operate and what clients can expect. Professional judgment and experience guide what we build, while advances in the technology expand what our firms can deliver. Our shared agentic platform connects that progress across teams and services.

Founded in 2023, Norm brings together experts across engineering, research, product, design and professional practice. Our legal and compliance platform serves institutions representing more than $35 trillion in combined assets under management.

Norm also powers Norm Law, LLP, an affiliated AI-native law firm whose attorneys advise leading institutions on complex corporate matters.

AI Fluency
Norm prefers all team members to be fluent in AI. Successful candidates actively use AI in their day-to-day work to support thinking, creation, and problem-solving. They use it to improve the quality and speed of their work and to continuously refine how work gets done end-to-end.

Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate and discuss their AI usage throughout the interview process, including concrete examples of tools, workflows, and outcomes. We look for practical, hands-on experience, not theoretical familiarity.

About Norm Law
Norm Law is the first AI-native full-service law firm for global institutional clients like Blackstone (see recent coverage of our Blackstone relationship here: https://www.reuters.com/legal/transactional/legal-ai-startup-draws-new-50-million-blackstone-investment-opens-law-firm-2025-11-20/). Legal Engineering, a discipline pioneered by Norm Ai, where lawyers develop legal AI agents, powers Norm Law to deliver faster and more consistent legal services. With purpose-built AI agents completing first passes of work, Norm Law lawyers supervise, review, and focus on what matters most: strategic judgment and advice.

Norm Law and Norm Ai, together, are building Legal AGI.

This Role
Norm Law is building a top AI-native law firm, bringing together attorneys, legal engineers, and software engineers to rethink how legal services are delivered. This role requires sound judgment, strong project management skills, and close attention to detail. You should be comfortable working through ambiguity, coordinating across teams, and moving between planning and hands-on execution. You will have the opportunity to help shape how a growing firm operates and build processes that scale with it.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans for firm initiatives, coordinating stakeholders, tracking deadlines and dependencies, and resolving or escalating issues to keep work moving.
• Identify operational gaps and design, document and implement workflows that improve consistency, efficiency, and accountability across the firm.
• Coordinate client onboarding, internal approvals, and recordkeeping, working with attorneys and internal teams to create a smooth client experience.
• Work with the Operations leadership and practice leaders on resourcing, capacity planning, service delivery, and the operational needs of new and growing practice areas.
• Coordinate technology and vendor rollouts, gather requirements, support adoption, and develop practical guidance for attorneys and staff.
• Participate actively in meetings with partners and internal teams, synthesize decisions, establish clear owners and next steps, and ensure action items are completed.
• Take ownership of emerging operational priorities, conduct research, recommend approaches, and carry approved solutions through implementation.

Skills & Experience

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize complex discussions into clear action.
• Proven experience managing strategic projects and driving execution in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, from the lowest level to the higher level and in between.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, thrives when solving tough problems.
• Independent and high-ownership, able to “get things done” without layers of support staff.
