We're building the marketplace that will help power the largest infrastructure expansion in history.
AI infrastructure requires enormous investment, but financing GPU clusters comes with significant risk. Today, developers and lenders manage that risk through long-term, fixed-price contracts that lock customers into substantial financial commitments, often years before the infrastructure is built.
This creates a fundamental problem: AI companies need access to compute, but few can afford the risk of committing to millions of dollars in infrastructure they may not ultimately need.
SF Compute is changing that.
We're creating a liquid marketplace for GPU compute contracts, enabling companies to buy and sell compute capacity as their needs evolve. By bringing flexibility and liquidity to a traditionally rigid market, we're reducing financial risk, unlocking infrastructure investment, and making large-scale AI compute accessible to companies of all sizes.
Our mission is to make AI compute more accessible, flexible, and financially sustainable.
At SF Compute, we’re a tight-knit team of about 60 based in San Francisco. We think about infrastructure the way it should work—fast, scalable, and actually pleasant to use. We’re not big on hierarchy or fluff; we care about people who take ownership, follow through, and genuinely like solving hard problems. The pace here is real, and so is the expectation that you’ll show up ready to contribute and lead from first principles.
SF Compute is looking for a Commercial Counsel to help build and scale our commercial legal function as we grow our AI infrastructure business. This role will partner closely with Sales, Business Development, Finance, Operations, Engineering, and leadership teams to structure, negotiate, and execute high-impact commercial agreements that enable the business to move quickly while managing risk.
You will own a broad range of commercial transactions, including enterprise customer agreements, strategic partnerships, technology agreements, vendor contracts, and infrastructure-related deals. This is a highly collaborative role for a practical, business-oriented attorney who enjoys operating in ambiguity, solving complex problems, and building scalable processes in a fast-moving technology environment.
The ideal candidate combines strong commercial judgment with a genuine interest in AI, compute infrastructure, and emerging technologies. You will help create the legal foundation that allows SF Compute to scale responsibly and efficiently.
This role is based in our San Francisco office and requires working onsite five days per week. We believe close collaboration and in-person partnership are critical as we build the legal foundation for a rapidly scaling AI infrastructure company.
