Viabot is leading the way in autonomous property management solutions for commercial properties. We’re looking for a hands-on, mechanically minded Robotics Field Technician to join our California team. This is not your typical desk job — you’ll be on the road, keeping our fleet of robots running smoothly across the Bay Area and beyond.
● Travel locally to perform maintenance and repairs on robots at client locations
● Conduct routine inspections, technical debugging, cleaning, and repairs
● Troubleshoot mechanical and low-voltage electrical problems, often collaborating with our technical team
● Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repairs using internal tools
● Operate hand and power tools for routine servicing
● Prioritize and schedule repairs independently in a fast-paced environment
● Manage shipping and receiving of robots and parts for servicing
● Train servicing agents at remote sites as needed
● Respond promptly to maintenance requests and maintain healthy inventory levels
● Detail debugging reports for complex fixes, capturing root cause, diagnostic steps, resolution, and lessons learned for long-term record-keeping and knowledge sharing.
● Working knowledge of PC troubleshooting and diagnostics, including hardware, OS-level issues, and network connectivity basics.
● 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining commercial service robots.
● Highly organized self-starter with a demonstrated personal system for managing tasks, tracking open issues, and prioritizing work independently without relying solely on supervisor direction.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Jira, and work order (WO) management platforms for documentation and task tracking.
● Experience in field service or equipment maintenance or a related technical field
● Strong understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques
● Comfortable working independently or in small teams with minimal supervision
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
● Experience building/troubleshooting electrical or mechanical systems
● Leadership skills
