We're looking for a design leader who can build and grow a high performing team, set the bar for craft, and align design with product goals, all while keeping a genuine passion for the elegant, seamless experiences that keep our viewers coming back. This role blends strategic ownership with hands on leadership. You'll set direction, coach your team through the hardest problems, and represent design at the table with senior product and engineering partners.
About Our Team:
Our Product Design team is reimagining what mobile entertainment can be, transforming the Peacock app into a true general entertainment platform where viewers move seamlessly between shows, movies, games, short form video, podcasts, and AI powered features. We're dedicated to crafting a mobile experience that puts viewers first, elevates exceptional design, and builds real daily value. We're not just improving how people watch. We're redefining what a mobile entertainment platform can and should be.
Who You Are:
- You believe great design drives real business value, you see how craft and customer impact connect. You know how to make that case to anyone in the room.
- You are a design leader with relentlessly high standards and deep operational knowledge across every aspect of UX and product design.
- You know how to build, coach, and grow a team of designers, and you take real pride in seeing people do their best work.
- You are thoughtful and endlessly curious, staying on top of consumer digital product best practices, tools, and emerging technology, including AI.
- You look at the data and listen to the viewer's voice, and you help your team do the same.
- You identify the most impactful concepts and push them, and your team, through a rigorous course of critical evaluation, execution, and release.
- You are a storyteller and a strong communicator, comfortable presenting a point of view to senior stakeholders and holding your ground in fact-based discourse.
- You think outside the box, and you know how to turn a big idea into a plan your team can execute.
- You can speak to best practices, market strategy, and competitor standards, and you use that knowledge to set direction.
- You are scrappy, driven, and equally comfortable setting a big vision or rolling up your sleeves on daily output.
- You feel most at home in a fast paced, iterative, collaborative environment, and you know how to keep a team grounded when priorities shift.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and grow a team of designers, providing mentorship, creative direction, and career development while building a culture of craft and accountability.
- Own end to end design strategy for the mobile experience, spanning browse, long form and short form content, games, and fandoms, with a vision for how they all cohere into a single, seamless platform.
- Connect design work to business impact, tying creative decisions to the outcomes.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to shape a working model that keeps Design, Engineering, and Product moving in lockstep, from discovery through release.
- Explore and champion practical ways AI can improve both the product experience and how the team works, from AI powered features for viewers to AI assisted tools that speed up the design and engineering process itself.
- Translate loose or ambiguous problem spaces into clear frameworks, hypotheses, and design directions for your team to execute against.
- Set and uphold production ready standards in alignment with business and design goals for both domestic and international audiences.
- Drive alignment among stakeholders and senior leadership on research insights, design decisions, and tradeoffs.
- Partner with Data and Research to identify actionable insights, and make sure those insights inform long term design and product strategy.
- Manage prioritization and workload across the team, keeping features and vision moving to from concept through experimentation to customer launch.
- Represent the design team in cross functional planning, defining requirements, scope, dependencies, and success criteria alongside PM and Engineering.
- Maintain a critical eye and an obsessive attention to detail, both in your own work and in what you approve from your team.
- Share findings and design direction with the broader UX org, presenting work visually and building buy in across the company.
