About the Role

The Mechanical Technician IV position involves overseeing the assembly, testing, and maintenance of highly advanced mechanical systems and components to meet required specifications. In this expert role, you will work closely with engineers and senior technicians to ensure the quality and reliability of flight hardware. This position requires mastery of mechanical principles, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to precision and safety. You will be involved in assembling major structures, performing part-fitting operations for spacecraft systems, and translating blueprints into mechanical assemblies. Additionally, your tasks will include precision drilling, using calibrated tools, bonding, troubleshooting, and developing master-level skills in precision cleaning and handling mechanical hardware.

In this role, you will oversee and guide the work of less experienced technicians in highly complex mechanical assemblies, soldering, harness routing, inspection, in-process testing, precision cleaning, and structural fabrication. You will inspect, assemble, integrate, and operationally check flight hardware, as well as assemble, test, and maintain mechanical systems and components to meet specifications and standards. Using ultra-precision measurement tools, you will ensure components meet specified tolerances while adhering to general best shop practices, including PPE and shop safety requirements. Additionally, you will follow 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness protocols, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and work in restrictive spaces. Collaboration with team members to achieve production goals will also be an integral part of your responsibilities.
