Senior Financial Data Architect

About Savvy Wealth:

Wealth management is a $545 billion industry that still runs on manual work. 75% of advisors offer no digital communication beyond email, and most still build financial plans by hand in Excel. Savvy is reinventing what it looks like to be a financial advisor. Founder Ritik Malhotra saw the fragmentation firsthand after seeking out his own advisor, and started Savvy to give independent advisors a modern, AI-native home.

Savvy is a registered investment advisor (RIA), and we partner with experienced financial advisors who want to grow without running the back office themselves. Advisors bring their book and join Savvy, running under their own brand (or ours), and Savvy earns a percentage of the assets they manage. In return, they get a true business-in-a-box: a proprietary tech platform and client portal, an in-house marketing team that helps them grow, a world-class investment management team, and a dedicated client services team that runs day-to-day operations and support. Advisors at Savvy service up to 50% more households and save 19 hours a week.

AI runs through everything we do. On the product side, Savvy Intelligence (released April 2026) is the only AI built for wealth managers that can see a client's complete financial picture. Internally, everyone at Savvy uses Claude and is encouraged to experiment with it, backed by a dedicated AI enablement team and a RevOps org building agents in-house.

The trajectory is steep and it's still early. We're a Series C company with 170+ people, $200M raised, and $100M ARR in sight this year. Inc. ranked us the No. 1 fastest-growing financial services company in America in 2026. Come build the next stage with us!

The Role:

We're hiring a Senior Data Architect to take ownership of Savvy's data foundation. This is a high-impact role that will shape how the company measures performance and makes decisions. You'll set the technical direction for our financial and operational data, bringing it together into a centralized, well-modeled system the company can build on with confidence.

This is a high-ownership role with real latitude to shape how Savvy approaches data. You'll bring deep expertise in data architecture and system design to a fast-scaling business, set technical direction,, and partner directly with finance, operations, and leadership to translate business priorities into durable data architecture. You'll also help shape and scale the data team we build around this work.

This role and team will work across the entire company, and tackle some of our thorniest data and engineering challenges. An example is calculating how much one of our advisors takes home in their paycheck. At the surface it seems a simple problem: take their collected client bills, apply the revenue share percentage, and you’re done. In reality, it’s a complex flowchart of funds across complex financial products, different systems, and detailed legal contracts. If you find this kind of thing to be a fun puzzle, this is the right role for you.

The following data flow diagram of one of our problems should excite you, not scare you:

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end architecture for how Savvy's financial and operational data is modeled, stored, and governed, building toward one coherent, centralized system the company can rely on.

• Evaluate, select, and drive company-wide adoption of a self-service analytics/BI tool (such as Looker, Sigma, or Omni) that becomes the company's shared home for reporting and analysis.

• Define and own business metric definitions(such as booked AUM) to establish one agreed calculation and one place it lives,

• Build the infrastructure to automate recurring internal reporting, so teams can focus on acting on insights rather than producing them.

• Design data reconciliation and quality checks across key systems to catch discrepancies early and maintain data integrity.

• Partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, compliance, and engineering to translate reporting needs into durable, reusable data architecture.

• Help set the technical direction and roadmap for Savvy's data function, with real ownership over how the team and systems around it take shape going forward.

Must Have:

• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics engineering, or data engineering, with direct ownership of system design and data modeling decisions

• Experience consolidating a fragmented, multi-source data environment, into one centralized, governed system.

• Hands-on experience evaluating, selecting, and driving company-wide adoption of a self-service BI/analytics platform (such as Looker, Sigma, Omni, Power BI, or Tableau).

• Strong SQL fluency and depth in data modeling practices, with comfort operating across modern cloud data warehouses.

• A track record of operating as a highly autonomous, strategic owner: setting direction, pushing back on stakeholders, and prioritizing across competing demands without waiting for a PM or detailed requirements.

• Experience working with financial or otherwise regulated data, ideally including reconciliation or compliance-adjacent reporting.

• Excellent cross-functional communication skills, comfortable working directly with finance, compliance, and executive stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

• Experience at a high-growth fintech, wealthtech, or RIA.

• Experience hiring, building, or mentoring an early-stage data or analytics team.

• Familiarity with modern data stack tooling such as dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, or Fivetran.

• Experience owning board-level or executive reporting automation.

Benefits:

• We offer a generous relocation package to help top talent make the move to our NYC office

• Unlimited PTO + paid company holidays

• Access to holistic medical, dental, and vision plans

• Company 401(k) (including Mega backdoor Roth options), Commuter, and HSA/FSA plans
